Every Monday morning, I log onto Facebook and see tons of harsh words about poor little ole Monday. Have you ever wondered tho, maybe Monday is so mean to us, because we're so mean to it? Maybe if we were to wake up and see the beauty of Monday, then our Monday's would start to look a little brighter? So this is why I've decided to start a Marvelous Monday blog. Every Monday, I challenge you to find something wonderful, beautiful...something Marvelous about your Monday!
So, for my own first MM blog, the thing I find great today, is I WOKE UP! When life gets us down, when we get frustrated with our days - no matter which one it may be - just remember...you woke up. You opened your eyes and your alive. Alive another day to see your babies, your spouses, your friends, the beautiful world around you. Would you rather be having a rough day, or no day at all? So go forth today, and remember...it might be cloudy, but those clouds won't be there forever, and soon...the sun is gonna shine!

It was nice while it lasted
Well, it feels like the cortisone is wearing off. I could be wrong, but I have noticed more stiffness the last day or two. Still not as bad as before the shots, but it's there. If in fact it has, or is, it was the most pleasant 7 days i've had in years. Um...physically that is...emotionally I was a mess, but that's just part of being a girl. @@ However, if the way I felt from the cortisone is any indication of how I will feel once I'm all healed up from surgery, then it will be more than worth it. To be able to stand up from sitting or sleeping with out spending 5 minutes getting into a position to walk has been a wonderful thing. Anywhoo - I hope they're not wearing off so fast, but if they are then there's not much I can do about it.
On a side note, it's the end of March and we woke up to about 2-3 inches of SNOW! Granted it has since melted away as the day went on, but still, it was funny. :) This comes after yesterday I got a slight sunburn during Isaiah's football camp. That was a lot of fun too! Isaiah had so much fun, so much fun that he got mad when it was time to leave. It wasn't enough that we were there from 9am until 2pm, AND he got to play at the playground for a bit during the lunch break. His football playing time almost got cut short due to a mouth guard over the weekend as well. We went ahead and tried to get his mouth guard fitted and he nearly threw up all over me. After talking to a few friends who have little ones playing ball, they suggested that I cut the back of the sides of the guard and see how that worked....and it did! I was SO happy! And Isaiah thinks he's super cool now walking around the house with it in. The only problem, is that during the heating and fitting he bit down one of the sides and I didn't realize it, so we're going to have to get a new one before his first game next weekend. So, busy Saturday we had, and wore me out so much that I passed out with Isaiah at 9pm when he went to bed! Fun, fun, fun!

Down, Set, Hike!
My little man is now a football player!!! He had his first football practice yesterday and it was so much fun to watch. More importantly though, he LOVED it. The smiles that beamed across his face as he learned new things was enough to bring tears to my eyes. He was absolutely hilarious out there, and still has much to learn. The league is part of the NFL Flag Football program and the team he's on is the Patriots! Ha! His uncle is eating that up! He got to try out being the center and running back. Watching him at running back, I kinda think that's going to be his strong suit. However, he's still little and they've got a long ways to go. It's going to be so much fun watching him grow, and learn, and enjoy himself throughout the course of the season. We're supposed to have a camp this weekend, but I have a feeling the weather is going to mess that up. I hope not though!! Then opening day is on April 2nd. It's going to be a super fun season!

Hip...Hip...Hooray!!
Ahhh....relief! Yes, that's what I finally have a bit of. Friday afternoon I went and had cortisone injections in both of my hips. That was quite an interesting experience! I had it done under flouroscopy which is basically a live action x-ray. Man, oh man, are my hips trashed! I seriously have no cartilage in there at all. Anywhoo, the right hip was a pain getting done. When they actually put the cortisone in it felt like my entire thigh was going to burst open - ouch!! However, the injecting of the left hip was much smoother, and not nearly uncomfortable. So there I was, all done, and ready to go get dressed. I hopped off the table and went to change back into my clothes. As I did that, I became extremely dizzy. I ended up needing a ride home for safeties sake. The next day though, waking up and climbing out of bed was like a dream. I still get little sticks here and there...but in general it's been wonderful.
Now on to the other exciting news. Next month I'm returning to see Dr. Pelligrini at the University of Maryland Orthopedics. I'm finally ready to go through with getting my replacements done on my hips. We will have a lot to talk about that's for sure. I kind of want to get them done at the same time, even though I know that it will be a little harder to recover from. I believe that with my circumstances both physically and the home front, that having them done at the same time will be the most beneficial for me.
Sooooo....all good things going on here. I'm feeling stronger emotionally as well, which is a little slice of heaven. :)

All together now
Just a quick stop in to say that I'm still around here somewhere (hi Grandpa!). I just merged my two blogs into this one, so that I don't have to worry about going back and forth. I have some stuff to tend to at the moment, but hopefully will be back later tonight with some new news (haha!) related to my hips! Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!
