July is FINALLY over. It seemed like the month that was never going to end. LOL! It has however. Now it's August, and well, in 20 days my sweet little boy will be starting school. The time has flown by these past 4 years. He's excited and so am I. I think he's going to do so good! As for me, I'm doing good. Still hanging around the 157 mark. I'm currently reading the South Beach Diet book, because I think it has what I need for my body to be successful in losing weight. With my PCOS it's always been about "low carb" - but I honestly feel that it's more along the lines of the "right carb". This book is bringing out a LOT of information about blood chemistry and how what we eat determines how it all works out. Over the years I've done my body a lot of damage and it's time to change it and get it all in check. If diabetes, which is all insulin resistance, can be cured through diet and exercise...why can't PCOS? I'm determined to find out. I want to change my whole lifestyle of eating, and when I reach my goal weight I want to get re-tested for PCOS and see what the results are. Could be very interesting. Another thing I'm working on is getting in my SLEEP! For one, I know my body will greatly benefit from it, and second, since Isaiah starts school soon we have to start waking up early cause he's in the morning class that starts at 9am. The past two days I've done well. The first night I was asleep by 12:30am, and woke up on my own at 6:15am. Only took a 15 minute nap yesterday and went to bed around 10:45pm. I woke up a lot through out the night though last night, and it was harder to wake up in the morning. We woke up around 8:30am, but I feel SO much better than I would have if I would have went to bed at 2am. However, waking up at 8:30am will NOT work once he goes to school since class starts at 9am! LOL - guess it looks like I had more to write about that I thought. Until next time!

I think I can, I think I can

First Baseball Game
This past weekend Chris & I took Isaiah to his first baseball game. Went to a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs game and had a lot of fun! They played York and ended up winning 5-1. Now Isaiah is all ready to play T-ball come the fall. I'm pretty excited about it too!!! We've been playing a little outside and he hits pretty good! Just gotta work on catching with him.

Ohio, ohio...how fun :)
Day 2 - I wasn't feeling so great, so I stayed home with the kids while Ashley went and got her hair done. Then we all went out to dinner again at a place called Cabana's. Its an outdoor restaraunt right on the Ohio River...super nice! Then we headed home and the kids stayed with the Grandparents while me and Ashley had a little grown-up time and went out for a couple drinks. It was so sweet to come home and see the little ones sleeping in bed with Hailey's grandma . :)
Day 3 - Water Park day!!! Nothing much more to say about that LOL We spent like 7 hours at "The Beach" water park and it was a great time!
Day 4 - Off to the country we go!! We got to her Dads place, hung out for awhile and then eventually headed out to the lake. Had a nice little boat ride, then came home for an early nights rest.
Day 5 - Spent lots of time out on the boat. Then went back to the house for yummy bbq!
The rest of the trip was spent relaxing and getting ready for the drive home which was a 9 hour trip turned into 13 hours LOL
I met some amazing people along the way and would love to one day see them again!
Back from Vacation
Well, I'm back from a one week vacation with a friend and our little ones. I felt like I had gained 10 pounds...but thankfully it was only 3. So, i'm just a little under my start weight again. Blah...but I guess it could be worse right? I've been doing pretty good these 2 days that I've been back home...just gotta keep it up and get moving with the exercise!

Holding Steady
Still sitting here with my 3 pound loss. Got a little off track with the exercise, but continued trying to keep up with eating decent. Glad i didn't put the weight back on. I've had a good last few days now, so I'm hoping to keep it up and hopefully lose a couple by Tuesday. Wish me luck!

It's all about the numbers.
So I'm starting to believe that Isaiah truly is smarter than the average bear. This isn't something that I talk about with many people, and I know not very many people read this blog so it's kinda my getaway and place to let things out. I just don't want people to think I'm crazy, or one of those "my kid is better than yours" moms, cause that's not how it is. He really amazes me sometimes, and I've had a few people tell me that he really is above kids his age, so I don't know. He's known letter recognition since he was 20 months old, could memorize books by 2. Lately tho, it's allllll about numbers. He counts everything! I think if he would stop being crazy for a moment, that he'd be counting to 100. He's totally into telling me what time it is every 5 seconds. His new thing is counting backwards. The other night he counted backwards from 10 for me...something he learned at the Demolition Derby. The next morning he started at 30 and counted backwards. Yesterday, dad told me that the did addition on their walk. Only did plus 1's, but still...he just turned 4! They did 1+1= all the way to 6+1= and then Dad started to try and do subtraction. Today Isaiah and I did the adding all the way up to 20+1=. He's such a smart cookie! I've started reading a bit about the behaviors of gifted children and he fits practically every catagory. The one thing that really caught my eye was sensory sensitivities. He's always had a serious issue with bright light and his eyes. It's not the normal "oh it's bright" - it was to the point he would hide behind me and his eyes would actually water and he just couldn't take it. It's eased up a bit as the years have gone by, but I just read that that is something that gifted kids deal with. Also, food texture issues...I won't even go there with him and food. LOL. I'm not going to worry too much about it, just going to continue to teach him the best I can and hope that when he starts pre-school in the fall that he's not too bored. :)
