The End is Near

So, it's now June 27. Today my father turns 50...a big milestone in anyone's life. I think tomorrow I'm giving him the best present possible...the first of two new hips. This is the beginning of me finally being able to work myself back out of the house and on my own. It seems rather ironic however, for Dad to turn 50, and his 31 year old daughter being the one getting hip replacements. :)

Right now I'm sitting here, patiently, eagerly awaiting for the phone to ring with the scheduling nurse on the other end of the line to let me know my surgery time. I'm hoping for a early surgery...I'm ready to get this party started!!!

I've been a big ball of emotions the past couple days. I'm completely thrilled with what is coming up, but have all the natural fears that everyone has prior to a major surgery. I ask you all to say a prayer for me tonight and tomorrow, for a smooth sailing surgery. I love you all! <3 :)

Counting down the days

I cannot believe how soon my first hip replacement surgery is. Twenty four days from now, I will more than likely be in a recovery room...or maybe already in my first physical therapy session. This past week I went to the University of Maryland Medical Center for all of my pre-op testing and also for the Total Joint Replacement class. It all made me so much more excited for this next chapter of my life. It almost feels like a whole new life to be honest. There are so many possibilities that await me after recovery. I try not to get TOO worked up, because I know that there are always downsides, and there are sometimes failures. All I can do is throw up my prayers to God and believe that he will guide me and my family through these changing times!

And one other thing...I can't believe my baby is almost done with pre-k!!!! Only 10 more "school days" left!
